  1. http://www.answering-islam.org/Terrorism/islam_and_violence.html(Islam) Islamic Violence ---> Violence from Islam can actually come from scriptures in the Qur'an. Passages and quotes inside clearly state to fight for your God, and that fighting for him is not seen as sin. “4:101 ... For the Unbelievers are unto you open enemies." This quote is stating for those who are non believers of their God, then those people are basically enemies in your life.

Intro:

The ways and beliefs of certain religions can cause one to become violent simply by interpreting the religion in a false accusation. Those who look deeper into scriptures have realized that some of the words said, relate to situations occurring long ago and are not meant to be followed in the present time. My main focus was on Islam and “jihad”, a Islamic word meaning “struggle.” The word is defined into two forms, inner and outer Jihad. The outer Jihad represents physical struggle, and this form can sometimes relate to violence. I will also go into depth about how the Qur’an has caused some Muslims to take violence to non-Muslims.

Religions:
  • Muslim -- Qur’an is the cause for some Muslims to feel hatred towards Jews, Christians, and other non-believers. But this does not go for all Muslims, while some take violent actions, others are more open minded and peaceful to those who are non-believers. There are beliefs that the "violent based" quotes in the Qur'an aren't meant for present day religion, but instead were written long ago possibly during a situation that had to do with the beginning of Islam.
  • Hezbollah = an Islamic militia group and political party in Lebanon , receives financial and political support from Iran and Syria, said to be a resistance group in most Arab and Muslim places, many counties classified them as a terrorist group,

Facts:
  • international conflicts, wars in the middle east, and other conflicts have “added fuel to the flame” that: religion is somehow the cause of this violence
  • politics and economy also are causes along with religion
  • “Jihad” in Islam ---> means “struggle” , there are two forms. Inner and Outer jihad, the physical (outer) jihad can sometimes be violent. Some take Jihad into non-violent methods against their enemies
  • Although some people may be religious and or use religion as there way of being violent, you can’t blame religion always for causing violence, because as those who are causing violence, there are others creating peace whom belong to the same religion

Conclusion:
The larger idea of my research is whether or not religion is the cause of violence, or those who are involved with it, that analyze the scriptures wrong are the cause of violence. If it’s possible that scriptures written were meant to be followed long ago, could the outcome of following them now cause violence? Well, it’s highly possible. Scriptures in the Qur’an strictly state non-believers are basic enemies, but, what if that person is no enemy to you, but is a non-believer? Can the scriptures be further analyzed so that in future times violence over religion is reduced and people can be more open minded about their religions. I believe if more research was done behind the Qur’an it would give those who believe it give them a more understanding behind what’s being said and hopefully decrease violence in Muslim religion.
